Are you being affected by the travel expenses cut?

The rate at which community nurses can claim for travel expenses was reduced on 1 July 2014, placing an increasing financial burden on staff, many of whom have experienced a public sector pay freeze in recent years.

The rate for the first 3,500 miles has been reduced from 67p per mile to 54p per mile. The rate for travel above 3,500 miles also changed — from 24p to 20p. The cuts were agreed with nursing unions last year, although they do not apply to medical staff, who have a separate agreement.

JCN wants to know if you are being affected by the cuts and what they mean for your standard of living. Let us know your views on twitter by following @jcnreport and including the hashtag #communitynursing in your tweet.
