Free-to-attend erectile dysfunction study days announced


The British Association of Urological Nurses (BAUN) is holding three erectile dysfunction study days in 2014 with support from Prostate Cancer UK. These free study days will take place in the following locations:

Newcastle, St James’ Park – Friday 16thMay
Birmingham, Bethel Convention Centre – Thursday 3rdJuly
London, Homerton University Hospital – Tuesday 9thSeptember.

These days will be of interest to: urology nurses, endocrinology nurses, cardiology nurses, counsellors and those involved in sexual health.

Programme highlights Include:

  • Anatomy and physiology of erection and sexual response. Common causes and co-morbidities associated with erectile dysfunction
  • The role of testosterone and hypogonadism
  • Erectile dysfunction and the prostate cancer patient
  • The patient’s perspective
  • How to assess the patient with ED
  • ED and LUTS-HPG: making the link – bridging the gap
  • ED treatments: PDe5 inhibitors, infections and vacuum devices
  • Surgery for ED
  • Psychosexual issues and counselling
